Ingredients
Method
For Chalk Sticks
- Combine 1 cup plaster of Paris with 2–3 tbsp glow-in-the-dark pigment powder in a mixing bowl. Stir well.
- Slowly add 1/2 cup warm water, mixing until smooth. Add food coloring or liquid watercolor if you’d like!
- Pour the mixture into molds. Tap gently to remove air bubbles.
- Let dry for 12–24 hours. Carefully unmold once solid.
- For extra glow, cure another 24 hours in a cool, dry place.
For Chalk Paint
- In another bowl, whisk 1/2 cup cornstarch with 1/2 cup tonic water until smooth.
- Add a few drops of neon or fluorescent paint—mix well!
- Use immediately to paint sidewalks, paper, or driveways.
- For a next-level glow, shine a black light on your masterpiece.

Notes
Store chalk sticks in a sealed container in a cool, dry place. For chalk paint, mix fresh each time—leftovers don’t store well because the cornstarch settles. Use glow-in-the-dark pigment powder instead of glow sticks as the latter contains unsafe chemicals.
