  • Sugar or cinnamon-sugar for sprinkling

Instructions
 

  • Mix the Batter:
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the softened butter, milk, and egg. Whisk or beat until smooth and creamy.
  • Assemble the Pie:
  • Grease a 9-inch pie plate thoroughly. Pour the batter evenly into the pie plate.
  • Spoon your chosen fruit pie filling into the center of the batter, leaving about 1 inch around the edge. Do not stir.
  • Sprinkle the top with sugar or cinnamon-sugar, depending on your filling.
  • Bake the Pie:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the crust is puffed up, golden brown, and fully cooked.
  • Cool and Serve:
  • Allow the pie to cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
