Method
Preparation of Caramelized Apples
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add the apple slices, brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
- Cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are soft and golden.
- Stir in the lemon juice to balance the sweetness and set aside to keep warm.

French Toast Cooking
- Heat a large frying pan or griddle over medium heat and add a little butter.
- Dip each slice of bread into the pumpkin spice mixture, letting it soak for a few seconds on each side.
- Place the soaked bread onto the hot, buttered pan and cook each side for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
- Keep cooked slices warm in the oven on low heat while finishing the rest.
Assembly and Serving
- Stack the French toast on plates and generously spoon the warm, caramelized apples over the top.
- Add an extra drizzle of maple syrup, a dollop of whipped cream, or powdered sugar if desired.

Notes
For best results, use thick-cut bread and allow it to soak in the mixture. Store any leftovers in separate airtight containers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
