A sweet and creamy Sicilian dessert infused with fresh orange zest, cinnamon, and vanilla, perfect for family gatherings or a cozy moment with coffee.
Ingredients
Method
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the pie crust in your pie pan if not already prepared.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the ricotta, sugar, eggs, orange zest, orange juice, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt until smooth and well combined.
Assembly and Baking
- Pour the creamy ricotta mixture into the unbaked pie crust. If using mandarin orange slices, gently press a few into the filling for a decorative touch.
- Place the pie in the oven and bake for 45-50 minutes. The filling should be set but slightly jiggly in the center. A few small cracks on top are normal!
Cooling and Serving
- Let the pie cool completely on a wire rack. Once cooled, dust the top with powdered sugar for a beautiful finish.

Notes
For best results, drain the ricotta if it is watery. This pie can be stored covered in the fridge for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 2 months. If you want a richer texture, consider adding 1/4 cup of mascarpone or cream cheese to the filling.
