Ingredients

  • 1 cup 227g unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup 150g brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup 100g white granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs at room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups 280g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup 175g semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
  • Beat in eggs, one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.

  • Stir in chocolate chips, reserving a few for garnish.
  • Shape the Cookies
  • Divide the dough into 2-tablespoon portions and roll into balls.
  • Flatten each ball slightly, then shape into hearts by pinching the bottom and pressing the top to form a dip.
  • Place on the baking sheet, leaving 2 inches between cookies.
  • Bake
  • Bake for 10 minutes, then check and reshape the hearts gently with a spoon if needed.
  • Continue baking for another 3-5 minutes until the edges are golden brown.
  • Cool cookies on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
