Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon or spatula
  • airtight container

Materials

  • 10–15 cotton balls
  • 1/4 cup hair conditioner
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • food coloring (optional)
  • fine glitter (optional)

Instructions

  • Tear cotton balls into small fluffy pieces. This helps them mix evenly into the dough.
  • In a mixing bowl, add 1/4 cup of hair conditioner over the torn cotton and mix until coated.
  • Slowly add 1/2 cup of cornstarch while stirring. Mix until dough begins to form.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring and knead until evenly blended (optional).
  • Sprinkle in glitter and continue kneading to distribute (optional).
  • Play! Use cookie cutters, molds, or hands to roll, stretch, and shape your soft sensory dough.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to one week. Add more conditioner or cornstarch as needed to refresh texture. Not for consumption. Supervise young children during play.
