Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl and whisk
  • Small bowl for dry ingredients
  • Spatula or wooden spoon for folding
  • Knife for creating the Nutella

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese for that signature creaminess!
  • 1/2 cup Nutella the star of the swirl show
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips optional, but highly recommended for extra chocolatey joy!

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven
  • Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan with butter or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • Prepare the Ricotta Mixture
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, Nutella, and granulated sugar. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
  • Add the Wet Ingredients
  • Stir in the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract, ensuring everything is well incorporated.
  • Mix the Dry Ingredients
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Combine Wet and Dry
  • Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the ricotta mixture. Be careful not to overmix—stop as soon as the batter is just combined. If you’re using chocolate chips, gently fold them in now.
  • Create the Nutella Swirl
  • Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Add small dollops of Nutella on top, then pour the remaining batter over it. Use a knife to gently swirl the Nutella into the batter, creating a marbled effect.
  • Bake
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean. The top should be golden brown and slightly cracked.
  • Cool
  • Allow the loaf to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Slice and Serve
  • Slice the loaf and serve it warm or at room temperature. Pair it with coffee, tea, or a cold glass of milk for the ultimate experience
