Equipment

  • disposable cups for mixing activator and glue
  • Popsicle stick or spoon
  • latex gloves optional for cleaner handling
  • airtight bag or container for storage

Materials

  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp borax
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp white school glue
  • glow-in-the-dark paint or glow pigment powder
  • food coloring (optional)
  • 2 small disposable cups
  • popsicle stick or spoon (for stirring)
  • latex gloves (optional)

Instructions

  • In one cup, mix ½ cup warm water with 1 tablespoon borax. Stir until fully dissolved and set aside.
  • In a second cup, combine 2 tablespoons glue, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, glow paint or powder, and optional food coloring. Stir gently to maintain swirls.
  • Slowly pour the swirl glue mix into the borax solution. Let it sit for 10–15 seconds to start forming a polymer layer.
  • Scoop out the forming mixture and roll it in your hands into a ball. It may be sticky at first—continue kneading until firm.
  • Charge the ball under a bright light or UV light, turn off the lights, and enjoy its bounce and glow!

Notes

Store your bounce ball in a sealed bag or container when not in use. Recharge under a bright light or UV light for glow time. If the ball dries out, knead in a drop of water. For swirl effect, avoid overmixing the glue paint blend before activation.
