Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked jasmine rice (day-old is best for the perfect texture)
  • 1/2 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 cup carrots, diced
  • 1/2 cup peas
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Beef

Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced beef and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove the beef and set it aside.

Step 2: Scramble the Eggs

In the same pan, pour in the lightly beaten eggs and cook until they are scrambled and fluffy. Remove the eggs and set them aside with the beef.

Step 3: Cook the Vegetables

Add the remaining vegetable oil to the pan. Sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Then, add the diced carrots and peas, cooking for 2-3 minutes until they are tender but still vibrant.

Step 4: Add the Rice and Sauces

Stir in the day-old jasmine rice, breaking up any clumps with the spatula. Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil, mixing well until the rice is evenly coated and starts to crisp up slightly.

Step 5: Combine and Finish

Return the cooked beef and scrambled eggs to the pan. Toss everything together, ensuring the beef and eggs are evenly distributed throughout the rice. Add the butter, stirring until it melts and coats the rice for an extra rich flavor. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 6: Garnish

Turn off the heat and sprinkle chopped green onions over the top before serving for a fresh, oniony kick.
