These Eggnog Rum Balls are a perfect no-bake dessert for the holiday season! Infused with the rich flavors of dark rum, eggnog, and warm nutmeg, these little bites are deliciously spiced, creamy, and oh-so festive. They’re easy to make, can be prepared in advance, and are sure to be a hit at holiday gatherings. Enjoy them chilled or at room temperature for a tasty treat that captures the essence of eggnog in every bite.
In a large bowl, mix together the vanilla wafer crumbs, powdered sugar, and chopped nuts (if using).
In a separate bowl, whisk together the dark rum, eggnog, vanilla extract, and ground nutmeg.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir until well combined. The mixture should be moist and hold together when pressed.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1-2 hours, or until the mixture is firm enough to handle.
Once the mixture is chilled, scoop out about 1 tablespoon and roll it into a ball. Place each ball on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and repeat with the remaining mixture.
Roll each ball in powdered sugar to coat. For a festive touch, sprinkle a little extra nutmeg on top of each ball.
Place the coated rum balls back in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow them to firm up.
Enjoy your Eggnog Rum Balls chilled or at room temperature! Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week.
